Arty smarty

These are the two completed pieces I've done this month. I love working with charcoal! It's really forgiving and I can really hide my mistakes...
For this piece, we had to pick a black and white photo with a lot of different shades and draw it in A3 size upside down. The original photo that I had chosen was this way up but I forgot and drew it this way up the whole time so technically I was drawing it the right way up? I'm still confuzzled. But I really liked the result of this. I was really proud of it because I'm not that good but I have learnt a lot during this coarse so far and I can't wait for the rest!
This was the first piece I did this year and it was really difficult. We had a draw a squiggly line from one end of our page to the other and then weave another line around our first line. Then we had to add in light and choose a direction in which it's coming from. This was a challenge but I was really happy with the outcome.

One does not simply cancel Swimming Sports and then give us assembly instead.

I swear I don't think I've ever been so annoyed with this stupid school. They cancel swimming sports and then give us an assembly like we won't notice that they are NOT the same. Are you kidding me?!?! Swimming Sports is one of the most fun events of the year and they just cancelled it like that. ARGHHH!!!

SATURDAY

Trisha and Vivian's birthday outing!
Went out with the girls to have lunch and shop for Vivian and Trisha's birthday. It was a nice and chill hang out. Trisha should seriously dip dye her hair because it looked amazing when she chalked it? I don't know what it's called. Had a lot of laughs and can't wait for the next get together.

Temple Fest!
Afterwards I went to the annual Linh Son Temple Festival in Reservior. Saw some unexpected people but it was cool. Gotta love the Dodgem Cars people who let us go on for free at the end. Bonuss!

The good old days...

I remember when I was younger and I would always go to the library to borrow and read books. Ever since I started high school, I haven't been as frequently compared to back then. Since starting VCE Vietnamese, I realised how bad I am compared to the internationals so my dad suggested reading vietnamese children's stories and underlining the words I don't understand so he can later explain the definition to me. I had to go to the children's section and I ended up picking out five sparkly books (their presentation attracted the right crowd). Whilst I was looking around, I came across the Napolean Dynamite soundtrack. It was probably the best thing I've ever seen in a library. Best find out!

so bloody hot

The past couple of weeks have been so hot. I think I'm just going to go off and pass out in the corner. It's so hard to focus and especially sleep in these conditions. Fuck my life.

ROBERTO'S 21ST!!!!!!!

Happy Birthday my dear Robert! I hope you had an amazing day on Saturday. You're like a brother to me and you're so chill to talk to. I wish you all the best!

Hitchcock!

For my one of my English subjects Murder Mystery, we went off to see the movie Hitchcock at Rivoli Theater. My first impression of the theater was really good! It is elegant and it has good deals for seniors. When we got into Cinema 1, supposedly the biggest cinema there, I was in aw. It was spacious, pretty and well designed unlike the typical cinemas we have to deal with nowadays. It was traditional which made me feel more 'in theme' when the movie started. The movie was basically the behind the scenes of Hitchcock's most successful movies, Psycho. It featured him, his wife and the hardships they had to go through in the making of the movie. It gave viewers like me a really interesting insight into his life and how stressful it was on everyone during working and after hours. I would definitely recommend this movie!

OOTD: Happy Chinese New Year!!!

For Chinese New Year, my mum, dad, Jen and myself went to the festival in Chinatown. It was the first time my parents went on a tram since the 90's so everything seemed relatively new to them. After we bought them their mykis, showed them how to use it and directed them to Chinatown, we were quickly amazed by the sense of community. So many people Asian or not came together for this event and it was just really cool to see such a wide variety of people.
I hope you all have a happy and safe new year!

First Viet School Lesson

Today was the first lesson back from the holidays and I was expecting big things. We were going to have Pete this year as our teacher, we were going into year 11 so shit gets real and there were going to be a few new people so I was excited. The first bombshell that landed on me was that we weren't going to have Pete this year. He got moved down to teaching the year nines because their teacher quit. Then when I got to class, I realised that we didn't have 'a few' new students. Half of the class was new and what really made it worse was that they were all internationals. I have nothing against internationals but honestly they are the reason why I will struggle when I do 3/4. It's going to be a long year
I hate it when you have completely no inspiration on an outfit and nothing seems to match. I feel like I'm bloody handicapped! Nothing is working for me. HELP!

Monday 4 February 2013

I won't be posting as frequently as I used to for a while now.

Ever since I started year 10 this year, I realised that slacking off and hoping to get good scores isn't going to cut it. It was a serious reality check for me. No one but myself can help me. The first thing I'm going to do is cut some time out of going on the internet, yes that also means blogging and putting it into finishing and getting on top of all my work. I will most definitely blog every second day, unless some cat video goes viral and I reckon you guys should see it... but otherwise, this is the new me. Please don't be saddened! I have attached some cat gifs to cheer you up! :)

MASSIVE SALES ON BRIDGE ROAD!!!!!

Me and Jen got a tip from a friend that there were amazing sales on Bridge Road today so we headed out and got so much good items for such good pricing! I'm not even kidding. The most expensive thing we got was $10 and it was a pair of NEW jeans.
Everything is labelled from left to right accordingly. This is everything we got today combined! All of the items raged from 95c to $10. We spent a total of about $140!

An epiphany

When you realise what kind of a person you have become, it feels as though it is too little too late. But for those who strive for change within themselves for the sake of others, it will never be 'too late'. It will simply be a decision made later rather than never to start a new chapter in their life.
